These Terms of Use govern your use of ExcelSheetUnlock (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What the Service does

The Service is a free online tool that removes worksheet and workbook protection markers from Microsoft Excel .xlsx and .xlsm files. Processing happens entirely in your browser. No file you process is uploaded to our servers.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only on files that you own or are otherwise authorised to modify. You agree not to use the Service to:

• Access, modify, or distribute files belonging to others without their permission.
• Circumvent legal, contractual, or fiduciary obligations regarding access to a file.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to disrupt or interfere with the operation of the Service.

You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of the Service is lawful and authorised in your situation.

3. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the resulting file will open or behave as expected in any particular version of Excel or other software.

You are responsible for keeping a backup of any original file before processing. The Service does not modify your original file, but you bear all risk of using any output file.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the operators of the Service be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability arising out of or in connection with the Service shall not exceed five US dollars (US$5).

5. Intellectual property

"Microsoft", "Excel", and related marks are the property of Microsoft Corporation. The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

6. Advertising and third-party services

The Service may display advertising and may load resources from third parties such as content delivery networks. Those third parties are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third parties.

7. Changes

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator resides, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
